The customs specialists who answer when it is urgent

Customs is not hard when someone who knows the rules takes care of it. We started EasyToll because businesses should not have to wait days for an answer, pay the wrong duty because the commodity code was wrong, or chase a representative who never calls back.

“You meet the same customs specialist every time. I know which goods you send and what was declared last week, and that is how errors are stopped before they happen.”

9 yearsin the business, senior customs specialist

EasyToll was started on a simple insight: small and medium-sized businesses are forgotten by the big players. It takes days to get an answer, the price is unclear until the invoice arrives, and nobody tells you that the commodity code used for two years gives the wrong duty rate. The errors are only discovered when Norwegian Customs checks afterwards, and then you as the importer are the one who pays.

The large groups have their own people working on customs and logistics every day. The smaller businesses do not, and they are often the ones who need the help the most. We exist for them.

We built the business the opposite way to what we had met ourselves: fast answers, a fixed price stated up front, and the right commodity code from the start. We are three customs specialists with more than 15 years of combined experience from customs on both sides of the border, and it is the same three you meet every time, never a queue.

Part of that promise is the customer portal. Your declarations, supporting documents and invoices are collected there, available around the clock. If your accountant needs a particular declaration at a tax audit, she logs in and fetches it herself, without waiting for an email from us. The statutory retention period is five years, and we keep the archive.

We want to give control back to our customers.

What we stand for.

04

Accuracy

We do it right from the start, so you avoid corrections, additional bills and delays in your supply chain.

right from the start

Everything in customs, with one partner.

We cover the whole chain from commodity code to finished declaration, for imports and exports in both Norway and Sweden.

01

Import declaration

Customs clearance for goods from all over the world, from containers to express parcels, with the right commodity code and customs value. Read our guides (in Norwegian) for Sweden, China, the UK, Germany and the USA.

02

Export declaration

Exports with the proof of export that documents the goods leaving Norway, so the VAT exemption holds up at a tax audit. Guides (in Norwegian) for Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Poland.

03

Transit

T1 and T2 documents for goods passing through several countries before they are cleared. We handle the whole transit process.

04

Customs broker

We act on your behalf towards Norwegian Customs, with your power of attorney, and take responsibility for your declarations being correct. Read about the role of the customs broker.

05

Freight forwarder

Customs clearance is our trade, and if you want the freight from the same place, we coordinate it through our partner carriers. Read about the freight forwarding service.

06

Proof of origin and EUR.1

Origin declarations, EUR.1 and supplier’s declarations. The right proof often means zero duty, the wrong one means the bill afterwards. How to document origin (NO).

Need the freight as well? We coordinate the transport through our partner carriers: between Sweden and Norway in both directions, domestically within Norway, and onwards into the EU. The freight is priced separately from the declaration, so you see what each part costs.

What correct customs handling is worth.

Three worked examples of what is at stake in a perfectly ordinary shipment. The figures follow the Norwegian customs tariff and the Norwegian VAT Act and are not taken from individual clients. VAT is calculated on the customs value plus the duty.

01

NOK 53,500 in duty that disappears

Clothing from Turkey with a customs value of NOK 500,000 normally carries 10.7 per cent duty. Without proof of origin the duty is NOK 53,500, a pure cost that never comes back. With valid proof of origin under the free trade agreement it is zero. How to document origin (NO).

02

Up to NOK 600,000 in VAT exposure

Exports of NOK 3 million can be invoiced without VAT, but only if the sales document, the customs declaration and the proof of export exist the day the Norwegian Tax Administration asks. If the proof is missing, 20 per cent can be reassessed, and a 20 per cent penalty tax comes on top. How to get your proof of export.

03

NOK 21,133 on a single order

Clothing worth NOK 150,000 from a Danish wholesaler. If the goods have EEA origin and the wholesaler writes the origin declaration on the invoice, the duty is zero. If nobody asks, you pay 10.7 per cent, and the difference on the bill is NOK 21,133. Read about importing from Denmark (NO).

We check the commodity code, the customs value and the origin before every declaration goes out. That is where the money is. Want to work it out for your own shipment? Use the duty calculator. The calculator is in Norwegian for now.

How does the Swedish-Norwegian structure work for me as a customer?

You have one contact person and one case, whichever side of the border your goods are on. EasyToll prepares the Norwegian declaration, and our sister company EasyTull, registered with Swedish Customs (Tullverket) as a tullombud, prepares the Swedish one. Same documents, same figures, both sides of the border.
